“Live Life, Don’t Let Life Live You.”

Tradia Vereen hails from New York, New York, but was bred in Birmingham Alabama, a city that she once again calls home. The George Washington Carver High School graduate moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend college at Tennessee State University in 2004. There, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a concentration in Pre- Law in 2008. She continued her education at Tennessee State University and in the following year, 2009, she obtained a Master of Public Administration. While enrolled in her graduate program, Ms. Vereen worked as a legislative intern in the Tennessee General Assembly. She was commended for exemplary work during her tenure with the legislator’s office with a House Resolution, which is awarded by members of the Tennessee General Assembly.

A dedicated student and first generation college graduate, Ms. Vereen made her family proud when she graduated with distinction (Honors) in both her undergraduate and graduate program, but she did not stop there. Following completion of one graduate program, Ms. Vereen relocated to Boston, Massachusetts to enroll in a second graduate program at Massachusetts School of Law. While in law school, she was featured in news articles for trial team victories against law school students at prestigious and well-known institutions around the nation. Simultaneously, she began to build a reputation in the District Court and Superior Court system for fearlessly working with juvenile and death row clients. In 2012, Ms. Vereen once again graduated, this time with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.

Post law school, Ms. Vereen returned to her adopted hometown of Birmingham. She began her career there in boutique law firms before moving to the largest law firm in the southeast, Bradley Arant. During her tenure at Bradley Arant, she began volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) with Jefferson County Family Court, which stoked her interest in serving the community into a passion that eventually propelled her to entrepreneurship. In 2018, Ms. Vereen opened the doors to Balancing Life, LLC, an organization that provides family support services for parents that are in the process of regaining or maintaining custody of their children. Balancing Life works in tandem with the Department of Human Services and the family court systems in three counties to support the needs of its clients.

Ms. Vereen is reaffirming her commitment to her community through Balancing Life by advocating for indigent clients, rectifying injustices, and supporting individuals that are unaware of their rights. Her motto is "Live life, don’t let life live you," which pushes her to challenge herself to always be better than the day before and keeps her self-motivated with a progressive determination. In her work, she challenges those around her to never rest on their laurels and to continue pushing through life’s hurts to find life’s happiness.
